The Zoola Team continues on its journey to deliver you the most widely used Learning Analytics solution in the market. We are excited to share a couple highlights of the most recent enhancements that we have released:

Zoola

  • ENHANCEMENT: Zoola database connection tester - To provide additional Zoola installation tools to our Zoola only customers or partners, we have created a database connection test form that can be used to perform an end to end connection test between Zoola and your LMS database. This process features a user registration, login and password reset process controlling access to this feature. You can access this area by clicking HERE.


  • ENHANCEMENT: Zoola connection instructions  -  In addition to the database connection tester, we have also documented the Zoola installation process. This information outlines all the steps required to get Zoola up and running, from enabling the LMS database for Zoola connectivity, to installing the Zoola plugins. This guide can be found on our documentation site, HERE.


  • ENHANCEMENT: Event Based Report Scheduling - A requirement that we have heard from our customers is the ability to schedule a report based on an LMS event taking place. This allows for the scenario that when a user completes a course, they receive a transcript type report from the LMS (Zoola) that displays all the grades that they received through the course. To address this we have introduced a new feature to the Zoola Reports block that allows for Zoola reports to be scheduled when LMS events occur.
    • This functionality is tied into course completion events and allows the administrator to specify a message and a report that should be sent when this event task place.
    • We have also included the ability to restrict the report so that when a user completes a course they receive only their grade information and not everyone else's on the course.
    • We have many enhancements that we would like to make to this functionality, such as sending reports to a learner's teacher or manager, including more event triggers (e.g. enrolment, activity completion, forum post), and sending reports when a condition (grade greater than 70%) is triggered. We welcome any feedback about enhancing this functionality to best suit your LMS needs.

Bug Fixes

  • FIX: Resolved an issue where the reports scheduler is including additional characters in file names when spaces are being used.
  • FIX: Resolved an issue with MariaDB incompatibility with Zoola
